Wellness
Being healthy is a way of life. Most of the calls I get seeking weight loss, fewer pills, or "detoxification" don't really understand what will really help and not simply what they think they need. Advertising has misled many people into trying a quick fix that they think will solve all all their problems. People fall prey over and over to unscrupulous companies who are just simply trying to make money. Are you one of those who quickly purchase every "miracle cure" out there or have you been one of the few to actually take the necessary steps for better health?
Proven Strategies for Better Health
1. Eating better: Does your diet consist of a moderate to large amount of vegetables and fruit? Or do you regularly stop at the fast food restaurant for a quick burger, fries, and soft drink? One good strategy is to split the difference and still pick up the fast food entree but take it home and include a vegetable or fruit with it. It certainly won't take the place of a good overall diet, but it's a start. It's important to note that taking vitamins will not replace a proper diet.
2. Exercise: Most people run from exercise like it's a disease. Without exercise, it's almost impossible to keep your body healthy especially if you overconsume or even eat a standard calorie diet. There may be one strategy that will let you avoid exercise - Research has proven that a substantially reduced calorie diet can help you remain healthy and live longer.
3. Getting enough sleep: Research has proven that an average person requires between 7 & 9 hours of sleep each night for optimum health. Getting less sleep leads to premature aging inside and outside your body.
Attention to these 3 factors will put you on the right track to health. There are many other issues that are self explanatory such as minimizing smoking or drinking alcohol but paying attention to these 3 factors will help tremendously.
Most people struggle with poor food choices on a daily basis and most food manufacturers are trying their best to deceive you into making poor choices. A simple walk by the bread section at the grocery store reveals the depth of the deception. Check the ingredients on those dark breads labeled "wheat" or "multigrain". Many will be surprised to see that the first ingredient in those breads is anything but the whole grain wheat that was expected, yet you badly need the whole grain to provide you wilth necessary vitamins and minerals as well as fiber. You will also see "natural flavoring" on the ingredient list of many food products, but you probably don't know that the "natural flavoring" is a chemical made in a lab in the same way "artificial flavors" are made and added to the food.
It's easy to see how 2/3 of the people in the United States are now overweight or obese. There is an entire industry that labors to deceive you and the end result is poor health. Many people have simply never been educated to make proper food choices and maintain very bad habits concerning the timing of meals and snacks.
It's not as difficult as you think to change a few of your dietary habits in order to lose weight and become healthier. Major change is probably NOT needed.
