Insurance Information
Dr. Christopher May is a participating in-network provider for most insurance companies including Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, Aetna, United Healthcare, Humana, MultiPlan, PHCS, Golden Rule, Beechstreet, and many others. If you are covered by insurance, you will only be responsible for your co-pay amount in most cases. Be aware that you may have a yearly insurance deductible that must be met before your insurance company pays.
Health Savings Accounts are accepted as well which can help if you have a high deductible health plan. These Health Savings Accounts are usually set up by your employer and provide tax free money that will pay for all healthcare costs.
Affordability & Financial Burden on Patients
In some cases, fees - including co-pays, can be reduced in cases where needed care can be a financial burden on patients. It is Dr. May's intention to make care affordable for all patients, especially in instances where multiple visits may be required for the best outcome.
Auto Accidents & Work Injuries
Auto insurance medical payments coverage and attorney letters of protection are accepted. Tell your attorney or insurance adjuster that you would like to be treated by Dr. May and that he will accept payment upon case settlement.
Worker's compensation is also accepted. If you are injured at work, you should tell your employer that you would like to be treated by Dr. May.
Fees
Health Insurance - Fees for service have been negotiated by your insurance company and will follow the insurance company fee schedule that applies to chiropractic care. In most cases, you will only be responsible for your co-pay.
Worker's Compensation - Payment will be made according to the worker's compensation fee schedule by your employer or the worker's compensation insurance company. There will be no charge to the injured worker.
Auto Insurance or Injury Settlement - Payment will usually be made by your auto insurance company if you have medical payments coverage or by your attorney at the conclusion of your injury case if you were injured by someone else. In some accident cases in which you were at fault, your health insurance will pay.
